Position on Arabidopsis molecular genetics
A position is available at the Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell in Gif-sur-Yvette, I2BC (http://www.i2bc.paris-saclay.fr/). This position is funded in the context of the project “Improving Seed Iron STORage” (ISISTOR) funded by the ANR. The position is open for technicians or engineers for a duration of 12 months starting in October 2018.

Topic and missions
Seeds contain all the nutrients required for the development of a new organism, including iron which is frequently limiting in the human diet. Seeds are most often the edible part of crops. The objective of the project is to identify novel genes involved in the control of iron storage and remobilisation in seeds using a genetic approach. The candidate will be involved in the identification and characterization of Arabidopsis thaliana mutants : plant culture under controlled conditions, analysis of NGS data, construction of plant transformation vector, Arabidopsis transformation, genotyping and physiological analyses. The goal of this research is to identify candidate genes to improve iron availability in crop seeds.

Profile
The candidate should have a training in molecular biology. Experience in plant in vitro culture, Arabidopsis transformation and NGS data analysis will be appreciated. The candidate should be highly motivated and ready to interact within an international team.

Salary : according to experience and degree.
Starting date : from October to December 2018.
Applications : a CV, a statement of interest for the project and contact information for 2 references should be sent to Sébastien THOMINE before September 15th, 2018.
