The Academy of Sciences : A young talent from I2BC recognised

November the 22, Shashank Shekhar was awarded an Academy of Sciences prize « Grandes Avancées Françaises en Biologie », major advances in biology in french.

Among the prizes presented each year by the Academy of Sciences is one acknowledging the contribution of a young scientist to the major advances in biology in France.


This year, Shashank Shekhar has been awarded this prize for his work : « The kinetic control of the assembly of actin filaments defines the size of cellular protusion ». The work, under the direction of Marie-France Carlier was carried out in the Cytoskeleton dynamics and motility group.


Shashank presented his results at the Institut de France the 21st of June 2016.
