CDD 12 months renewable up to 24 months
Available Fall 2020
- Mission :
The postdoctoral researcher will work in a project combining microbiology, molecular biology, imaging and genetics, as part of a new ATIP-Avenir team at the institute for integrative biology of the cell (I2BC) (UMR9198). The goal of the project is to determine how the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum, transcriptionally commits in the host cell (red blood cell).
- Context :
The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to participate in the establishment of a new research group under the supervision of the lab head, in collaboration with present and future lab members, the facilities personnel and national and international collaborators.

The I2BC is a University of Paris-Saclay/CNRS/CEA research unit situated in the research campus of Gif-sur-Yvette, 35km southwest of Paris. The campus is in close proximity to a natural park and is deserved by public transportation with direct access to Paris. The institute hosts around 750 people among 74 research teams and 14 state-of-the-art technical facilities. At the end of 2020, the department of genome biology will move into a brand new building.

  • assemble results
  • write manuscripts
  • participate in the supervision of the junior lab members
  • establish protocols

  • Scientific rigor and autonomy
  • Experience in molecular biology (cloning, CRISPR) and cell culture and transcription (RT-qPCR, ChIP) and/or microscopy (live imaging) and/or genetics
  • Work as part of a team
  • Discuss research results and propose alternatives
  • Present lab work through the form of poster and oral presentations
  • Good english skills
  • Experience in parasitology is not mandatory
