Postdocs

Yamaichi lab is seeking a postdoc who is enthusiastic about science we are working on, and eligible/competitive to obtain individual postdoctoral fellowship from French/international framework. Inquiries are welcome but should include cover letter, CV, brief statement of potential project, and contact information of 2-3 references.

PhD students (include preceding M2 internship)

We are looking for new PhD student who could start his/her thesis research in the autumn of 2022. Dr. Yamaichi is attached to « l’école doctorale “Structure et Dynamique des Systèmes Vivants” » at Université Paris-Saclay, thus PhD students will pursue SDSV program.

Motivated student should contact Dr. Yamaichi about the procedure for the doctoral fellowship concours. It is also recommended to carry out his/her M2 internship January-June 2022 (paperwork for internship must be finalized by the end of November 2021).

M2 internship project will be posted in following courses:

— Molecular and Cellular Biology program at Université Pierre et Marie Curie

— Fundamental Microbiology program at Université Paris-Saclay

— Life Science and Health program at Université Paris-Saclay

Motivated students are encouraged to access University website to read project proposal and welcome to write an inquiry with your CV (follow instructions written in the proposals).

Other “short” (<42 days) internships (for M1, L2/3, BTS…)

We do welcome motivated internship students, and we indeed have accepted on average 2 internships per year (except 2019-2020 school year due to COVID-19 crisis). On principle, however, we will not accept more than 1 internship students at the same time (for the sake of both mentor and trainee). We will appreciate initiative but acceptance is not entirely first come, first serve.

Note for 2021-2022 school year:

This school year we particularly prioritize welcoming M2 internship student, with eager to continue his/her research in PhD (as mentioned above). Since M2 internship will take place 6 month, and we accept only 1 internship student at the same time, we expect that we can only welcome M1/L2/L3/BTS internships between October and December 2021.

General instructions

Due to the complex administration processes between host institute (I2BC) and the University/School and other necessary preparations, it will take certain time to welcome internships (particularly for non-EU personnel; no offense but just administration). Inquiry MUST be sent at least 6 weeks (or 3 months for non-EU personnel) before the expected starting date.

  1. Master students

Training projects are usually posted in following programs:

— Molecular and Cellular Biology program at Université Pierre et Marie Curie

— Fundamental Microbiology program at Université Paris-Saclay

— Life Science and Health program at Université Paris-Saclay

Motivated students are encouraged to access University website to read project proposal and welcome to write an inquiry with your CV (follow instructions written in the proposals).

Spontaneous applications can be also taken in account. Inquiry should show your utmost motivation.

  1. Alternance/Apprentissage

Here, CNRS or Univ. Paris-Saclay will be the ‘enterprise’ for these internship programs. Importantly, your project has to pass the ‘campaign’, which opens at the certain time of the year. We unfortunately cannot help inquiries that are not aware of the procedure.

  1. Other degrees(License students, BTS students etc…)

We can also welcome other students to do their internship, only if s/he qualifies and no conflict of the schedule (see above). Inquiry should direct to Dr. Yamaichi, and include motivation letter and CV that are written in English. I suggest to consult your teacher before writing me an inquiry.
